10.8 Temperature probe calibration

Introduction
Note:
The temperature probe must be calibrated by a calibration technician.
The temperature probe is calibrated using an offset.
Note:
Preparation
Before you start to calibrate the temperature probe, prepare the following:
Xcellerex XDM 50-1000, XDUO 100-1000 mixers Operating Instructions 29251615 AD
NOTICE
Do not use electronic simulation of resistance to calibrate the
temperature probe.
NOTICE
Do not calibrate the temperature probe while the vessel is being
controlled to a temperature setpoint.
If the instrument is used in a GMP compatible environment, the temperature
probe is a GMP critical component.
The probe tip may contain one or two temperature sensors, depending on
your instrument configuration. Both sensors have to be calibrated simultane-
ously.
Temperature calibration instrument
Note:
The accuracy of the temperature calibration instrument is the responsibil-
ity of the site metrology department.
Constant temperature circulating bath
Tip:
If additional circulating baths are available, they can be set to the two end-
point calibration temperatures. This would allow to shorten the total cali-
bration time, as there would be no need to change the temperature of the
primary circulating bath.
