4. Close the lid 9, by pressing it down-
wards.
5. Place the kettle on the device base 4.
6. Insert the mains plug 5 into a readily
accessible earthed wall socket whose
voltage matches the voltage stated on
the rating plate.
7. Press the on/off switch 6 down, until it
lights up and locks into place.
8. The device automatically switches off as
soon as the water starts to boil, or when
you remove the kettle 2 from the device
base 4.
9. Disconnect the mains plug 5 from the
wall socket.
10.Remove the kettle 2 from the device
base 4 and pour the water out.

8. Cleaning

DANGER! Risk of electric
shock!
Pull the mains plug 5 out of the wall
socket before you clean the kettle 2.
The kettle 2, the device base 4, the pow-
er cable and the mains plug 5 must not
be immersed in water or other liquids.
DANGER! Risk of injury
through scalding!
The kettle 2 becomes very hot during op-
eration. Allow it to cool down before
cleaning.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Do not use any astringent or abrasive
cleaning agents.
Cleaning the kettle
1. Disconnect the mains plug 5 from the
wall socket.
2. Wipe the kettle 2, the device base 4
and the power cable 5 with a damp
cloth if necessary. Dry with a dry cloth.
3. Allow all parts to dry completely before
you put them away or use the device
again.
Cleaning the limescale filter
1. Open the lid 9.
2. Press the limescale filter 1 down and in-
wards.
3. Pull the limescale filter 1 off upwards
from the kettle 2.
4. Clean the limescale filter 1 with a moist
dishcloth under running water.
5. Place the limescale filter 1 into the in-
tended recess in the kettle 2 and press it
down and outwards.
6. Release the downward pressure so that
the limescale filter 1 will lock in place at
the top in the recess.
Descaling
After some time, the boiling process will re-
sult in limescale being deposited in parts of
the kettle (depending on the hardness of the
water used). You should remove this at regu-
lar intervals, because otherwise the power
consumption of the device will increase.
1. Press the limescale filter 1 down and in-
wards.
2. Pull the limescale filter 1 off upwards
from the kettle 2. If there is limescale
residue in the limescale filter 1, place it
in the kettle when descaling.
3. Fill the limescale remover into the
kettle 2. Use a commercially available
limescale remover, e.g. limescale re-
mover for coffee machines. Comply
with the instructions on the packaging
of the limescale remover. You can find
the next steps in the instructions of the li-
mescale remover. Rinse the kettle multi-
ple times after descaling, if necessary.
