Contents of this chapter

This chapter contains example circuit diagrams of a brake unit.
The installation consists of two parallel units both including a brake chopper and two brake
resistors. One chopper – the first in the chain – acts as the master for the other. The
switching of the follower chopper is controlled by the master via a fiber optic link.
The purpose of these diagrams is to help in:

understanding the internal connections and operation of a brake unit, and

learning how to wire a brake unit.
