ERASING
When recording on a previously recorded tape, the
previous recording is automatically erased and
only the new recording can be heard. Follow the
instructions below if you want to erase a tape
without making a new recording.
1. Set the POWER switch to OFF/SLEEP.
2. Set the REC SELECT switch to M A N U A L .
3. Set the FUNCTION switch to LINE IN.
Make sure that nothing is connected to the
LINE IN jack.
4. Set the REC LEVEL controls to M I N .
5. Insert the cassette with the side you want to
erase facing towards you.
Reseal the holes with plastic tape if the tabs of
the cassette have been broken.
6. Depress the PLAY button while holding the
RECORD button depressed.
7. After finishing erasure depress the STOP button.

BORRADO

Cuando se graba en una cinta grabada anteriormente, la
grabacion anterior es borrada automaticamente y solo se
escucha la nueva grabacion. Siguiendo las instrucciones
a continuacion usted puede borrar cintas sin hacer una
nueva grabacion.
1. Ajustar el interruptor de energia (POWER) a OFF/
SLEEP.
2. Ajustar el interruptor REC SELECT .a MANUAL.
3. Ajustar el interruptor FUNCTION a LINE IN.
Asegurarse de que no haya nada conectado al conector
LINE IN.
4. Ajustar loscontroles REC LEVEL a MIN.
5. Insertar el cassette con el lado que Ud. quiera borrar
mirando hacia usted.
Rellenar los orificios con cinta plastica si las lenguetas
del cassette estan rotas.
6. Presionar la tecla PLAY mientras se presiona la tecla
RECORD.
7. Luego de terminar el borrado, presionar la tecla de
parada (STOP).
Notes:
1. When the external microphones are connected, the built-in microphones are automatically cut off.

2. When using the M-201 or HM-200E for the RC-838, another 2 plug adaptors available on the market,
are necessary.
3. Be careful that when one external microphone jack is employed, since the built-in microphone
channel not being used is not disconnected, and therefore, the sound is being picked-up with both the
external microphone and the built-in microphone at the same time.
Nota:
1. Cuando los microfonos externos estan conectados, los microfonos incorporados se desconectan auto-
maticamente.
2. Al usar el M-201 o el HM-200E para el RC-838, se necesitan otros dos adaptadores de 2 enchufes dis-
ponibles comercialmente.
3. Tener en cuenta que cuando se utiliza un conector de microfono externo, el canal del microfono
incorporado que no se usa no se desconecta, y por lo tanto, el sonido se capta con el microfono
externo y el microfono incorporado al mismo tiempo.
