3.2 10 Gb Net Unit extension

The "normal" Net Unit supports transmission speeds of up to 1 Gbps. The optional 10 Gb Net Unit extension
enables high-speed internal and external network connections on the SE server with transmission speeds of up to
10 Gbps.
The 10 Gb Net Unit extension consists of a switch of the Brocade ICX 7750-48F model, and in a redundant design
of two switches of this model. The 10 Gb Net Unit extension is possible for all SE server models (redundancy of the
"normal" Net Unit is not required).
The ICX 7750-48F is connected to the "standard" Net Unit via Twinax-cables or standard optical cables. For a
distance of more than 5 m between the two units, SFP+ connectors are required.
When the 10Gb Net Unit extension consists of two switches, both ICX 7750-48F switches are stacked via two
QSFP (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable) Twinax cables.
The SE Manager displays each ICX 7750-48F switch as a separate hardware unit in the Hardware -> HW inventory
menu.
