IGNITION SYSTEM
TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
Inspection steps:
1. Engine oil level
2. Spark plug
3. Ignition spark gap
4. Spark plug cap resistance
5. Air gap
TIP
Use the following special tool(s) for troubleshooting.
Analog pocket tester:
YU-03112-C
Pocket tester:
90890-03112
1. Engine oil level
9 Check the oil level.
(Refer to "ENGINE OIL LEVEL" on 2-5)
MEETS
SPECIFICATION
2. Spark plug
9 Check the spark plug condition.
(Refer to "SPARK PLUG" on 2-3)
GOOD
NO SPARK OR WEAK SPARK
OUT OF

NOT GOOD

IGNITION SYSTEM
6. Ignition coil (TCI unit) resistance
7. Ignition coil (TCI unit) resistance
8. Engine switch
9. Oil level switch (With oil warning model)
10. Wire harness
Oppama pet–4000 spark checker:
YM-34487
Ignition checker:
90890-06754
Add engine oil.
Repair or replace the spark plug.
