Switching on

Risk of fire with overheated food!
Unattended food can overheat and
ignite.
Do not leave the cooktop unattended
whilst it is being used.
 Press in the relevant control knob and
turn it anti-clockwise to the large
flame symbol. The ignition electrode
will "click" and ignite the gas.
When a control knob is activated, a
spark is automatically generated on all
burners. This is normal and does not
indicate a fault.
 If the burner has not ignited, turn the
control knob to the  position.
Ventilate the room or wait for at least
1 minute before trying again.
 If the burner does not ignite the
second time, turn the control back to
the  position and refer to the
"Problem solving guide".
It is possible that when switching on, a
brief re-ignition occurs (1–2 x clicks),
e.g. if there is a draught.
