Setting up Virtual Floppy on Windows 2000/XP

Windows 2000/XP needs to install the amivirtfl.inf file before you can redirect the
floppy drive on the host system. Windows asks for the INF file when you attempt to
redirect the floppy drive using the remote console for the first time.
Step
Description
1
When you first attempt to redirect the floppy drive, Windows 2000/XP detects a new device called AMI
Virtual Floppy. Windows 2000/XP asks you to provide the software drivers for the newly discovered
device. Do not use the default file provided by Windows 2000/XP. Instead, select the Specify a Location
option.
Note:
Do not use the amivirtfl.inf when prompted to install the virtual CD-ROM drivers. The
Virtual CD-ROM device does not require any special drivers. You can select the default option Microsoft
Windows provides.
2
Left click the Don't search I will choose the driver to install option and left click the Next button.
