4.5 Windows XP Embedded software
installation

Select the desired language and follow the instruc-
tions on screen.

After installation, we recommend that you close the
language bar if you are not using an Asian language.

Left-click on the the bar (Fig. 10, item 1).

The installation of the applications software, e.g.
ESI[tronic] or ESA, is described in the instructions
that came with the software.

Switching on

¶
To switch on, press the on/off switch on the front of
the PC.
 The PC ready LED lights up.

When you switch off your PC, you must wait at least
30 seconds before switching it on again.
i
With Bosch inspection and testing products in which
this PC was installed, you must switch on the PC
using the central mains switch on the socket strip.
The socket strip is located on the rear of the trolley.
It is used to switch on all components simultane-
ously (monitor, PC). Prior to this, the individual
mains switches of all components must have been
switched to the "on" position.

If errors occur, they will be displayed on your PC's
monitor. Section 5 describes how you should proceed.

Restart

If the PC fails to respond, you can restart it by briefly
pressing the restart button.

Restarting will mean you lose all data in main mem-
ory.

Switching off

When you switch off your PC, you must wait at least
30 seconds before switching it on again.
1. Close all running programs.
2. Click "Start >> Turn Off Computer" and select "Turn
Off". Confirm by clicking <OK> to turn off the PC.

The PC switches off after automatically after Windows
shuts down.

Transporting the PC

Transport all devices individually and in their original
packaging only, or in another suitable packaging that
ensures protection against knocks and damage. Only
unpack the device once it is in its final location.
