1 Installing the UIM Card and the Battery Note Consult your network operator to check whether a User Identity Module (UIM) card is required for the phone. When installing the UIM card, ensure that the golden contact area on the UIM card is facing downward and that the beveled edge of the UIM card is properly aligned with that of the UIM card slot.
2 Charging the Battery 1. Connect the charger to the phone. 2. Connect the charger to a power socket. The charging starts and the charging icon is displayed in animation. 3. When the charging icon becomes static, indicating that the charging is complete, disconnect the charger from the phone.

6 Locking the Keypad To prevent misoperations, you can press and hold the # key in standby mode to lock the keypad. When the keypad is locked, you can press the Call key to answer an incoming call and dial an emergency call.
In Contacts, select a desired number, and then press the Call key to dial the number. In Inbox of Messages, select a desired message, and then press the Call key to call the message sender. Answering a Call When there is an incoming call, you can press the Call key to answer the call or the End key to reject the call.
10 Enabling the Phone Lock The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. By default, the phone lock is disabled. You can select Menu > Settings > Security Settings > Phone Lock to enable the phone lock with the following options: Immediate: to enable the phone lock immediately.
