The GPS receiver in your HP iPAQ is the GL20000 from Global Locate. This high
sensitivity receiver uses Quick GPS Connection technology, so under normal use
there is no need for an external antenna.
Common Reasons for Interference
Interference Type
Vehicles with thermal glass windows and
windshields
Cell Phones or other equipment radiating
Radio Frequency (RF) energy or emitting
strong electromagnetic radiation. For
example, microwave ovens, high-power
cordless phones, CB radios, Walkie-
talkies, HAM equipment, X-ray and MRI
machines, etc.
Tall buildings, large trees, and very
cloudy or overcast skies.

Answering a Phone Call While Using GPS

If you receive a phone call while using your HP iPAQ GPS navigation software
powered by TomTom:
1. Answer the phone call by pressing the Answer/Send button.
2. Once you end the phone call, press the End Call button to resume the
audio on the GPS software.
NOTE Anytime you are using GPS on your HP iPAQ and you receive a phone
call, the audio on the GPS navigation software powered by TomTom is muted
until you finish the call.
How to Avoid
Place the HP iPAQ where there is a clear
view of the sky or on the dashboard of a
vehicle that does not have thermal glass
windows.
Move away from the interference source
or switch off the interference source.
Move away from the interference sources
so there is a clear view of the sky.
