The Optical fiber for MELSECNET
Splice adaptor (PA7003) instruction manual
Thank you for choosing our optical fiber splice adaptor (PA7003).
Prior to use, please read this manual thoroughly to fully understand the product.
1.Application optical fiber and connector
Application Network
MELSECNET/H 25Mbps
MELSECNET/H 10Mbps
MELSECNET/10
MELSECNET (Ⅱ)
✽ The QH type cannot be used with MELSECNET (II).
2.Regarding connection loss by the splice adaptor connection
AS,QH,QL Series : maximum 2dB/spot
SG Series : maximum 0.5dB/spot
3.Regarding all transmission loss by splice adaptor connection
All transmission loss of between MELSECNET unit are calculated by connection loss of splice adaptor
and add to transmission loss of optical fiber length.

3.1 Calculation of transmission loss
〔Formula〕
All transmission losses calculation value 〔dB〕
1) Transmission loss of optical fiber : α [dB/km]
(The value of α should be applied transmission loss of using optical fiber)
2) Length of optical fiber : L[m]
3) Connection loss of splice adaptor : 2[dB]( AS,QH,QL Series), 0.5[dB](SG Series)
〔Example〕
1) α =6〔dB〕
2) L =200[m]
3) Number of connection spot for splice adaptor = 2
All transmission loss is the following.
All transmission loss[dB] = (6/1000) x 200 + 2[dB] x 2 pieces = 5.2[dB]
(Remark)
Even if all transmission is less than maximum acceptable transmission loss,
it is impossible to use more than maximum station distance.
=(α /1000)×L+2〔dB〕×Number of connection for splice adaptor(Max 2 spot)
