Adjusting the Track Tension

No Parts Required
For New Tracks
1. For both tracks, turn the tensioning screw
counterclockwise until the tension block aligns
with the white line closest to the curve of the slot
on the decal

2. Align the closest notch in the tension screw to
the locking-bolt hole and secure the screw with
the locking bolt and nut.
3. Torque the rear bolt to 108 to 122 N∙m (80 to
90 ft-lb).
4. Lower the machine to the ground.
5. Drive the machine, then park the machine on a
level surface, engage the parking brake, shut off
the engine, and remove the key.
6. Verify that the tension block is within the green
guide of the decal or is 1.3 cm (1/2 inch) away
from the rear of the tension tube for both tracks
(Figure
10).
Note:
The track tension loosens after some
use.
7. Remove the locking bolt and nut
8. Using a 1/2-inch drive ratchet, turn the tensioning
screw counterclockwise until the tension block
aligns with the green guide on the decal or is 1.3
cm (1/2 inch) away from the rear of the tension
tube slot for both tracks

For Existing Tracks
1. Remove the locking bolt and nut
2. Using a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, turn the tensioning
screw counterclockwise until the tension nut
aligns with the green section of the decal

3. Align the closest notch in the tension screw to
the locking-bolt hole and secure the screw with
the locking bolt and nut
4. Drive the machine, then park the machine on a
level surface, engage the parking brake, shut off
the engine, and remove the key.
5. Verify that the tension block aligns with the
green guide of the decal or is 1.3 cm (1/2 inch)
away from the rear of the tension tube for both
tracks
