Troubleshooting
Possible causes
The computer is unsupported.
The battery is fully drained.
Shipping mode is still enabled.
The pen is not paired with your computer,
or the pen has lost connection with the
computer.
The battery is low.
The Bluetooth pairing has failed.
The firmware upgrade has failed.
The default function is changed or overwritten
in DPeM.
The pen function and settings in DPeM do not
match.
Windows update KB2968599 is not installed on
your computer.
The computer is unsupported.
Troubleshooting
Possible solutions
The pen works only with supported
XPS computers. Ensure the pen is
compatible with the computer that you
are pairing with. For a list of supported
devices, search for XPS Stylus at
www.dell.com.
Connect the pen to the charging area
of your computer to charge your pen.
Connect the pen to the charging
area of your computer to disable
shipping mode. For more information,
see
Connecting your XPS Stylus for the
first
time.
Remove the pen from the list of
Bluetooth devices and manually pair it
with your computer again. For more
information, see
Pairing your XPS
Stylus
manually.
Connect the pen to the charging area
of your computer to charge your pen.
Perform the steps for Bluetooth pairing
again. For more information, see
your XPS Stylus
manually.
Place the pen on the charging area of
your computer. When the LED indicator
turns solid white, launch DPeM and
follow the onscreen instructions to
perform the firmware upgrade again.
Launch DPeM to check the function
assignment of the buttons.
Install the latest Bluetooth driver for
your computer.
Install the latest Windows updates
(including KB2968599) on your
computer.
