IMPORTANT: For support purposes, you must know how to locate or have a copy of the HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage serial number, the Product ID key from WSS2016 COA, and the iLO Advanced Security license key.

  • Page 9 The Windows Storage Server COA label Product ID key is required when: • You have replaced the motherboard of HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage product. • You have upgraded the original version of the Windows Storage Server operating system to a "new" release, and the new COA product ID key is required to activate the operating system.
  • Page 10: Installing The Rail Kits And Mounting The Hpe Storeeasy 1000 Storage In A Rack

    • The rail kits, when installed, form only a shelf for the HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage to rest on. The HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage is not attached to the rail by any other means. Use extreme caution when pulling the HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage out from the rack.
  • Page 11 2. Slide the HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage into the position on the rails. Figure 1: HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage insertion into the rack 3. To secure the HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage to the rails, the Configure-to-Order (CTO) bracket at the rear ends of the rails must overlap the chassis tab.

  • Page 14 Procedure 1. Power down the HPE StoreEasy 1560 Storage. 2. Remove all power: a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source. b. Disconnect each power cord from the HPE StoreEasy 1560 Storage. 3. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the HPE StoreEasy 1560 Storage. 4.
  • Page 15 c. Repeat steps a–b on the other rail assembly. 2. Install the sliding rails on the tray: a. Align the notches on the rail with the pins on the side. b. Slide the rail towards the rear of the tray to lock it into place. c.
  • Page 16 4. Fasten the mounting rails to the rack columns: a. Retract and hold the rear retention bracket. b. Insert the pegs on the mounting flange into the rack holes. c. Release the rear retention bracket. d. Retract and hold the front retention bracket. e.
  • Page 17 g. Repeat steps a-f to fasten the other mounting rail. h. Make sure that both rails are mounted at the same vertical position on both sides of the rack. 5. Slide the tray into the rack. The rails will click and lock into place when the tray is properly engaged. Install the HPE StoreEasy 1560 Storage into the rack Prerequisites Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-15 Torx screwdriver available.
