How to Set up

The following describes the procedures from opening the package to starting
using this console drawer. Be sure to follow these procedures.
Step 1
Checking components
Open the package, and then make sure you have all the components listed below:
● User's Guide (CD-ROM) x1
● Getting Started (this guide)
● Cable clamp x2
● VGA cable (1.8 m)
*
● DVI cable (1.8m)
* Do not use a DVI cable (1.8m) in Taiwan. This product is certified
as Information Technology Equipment not as Audio/Video Products.
● USB cable (1.8 m)
● Guide rails (left and right)
● Set screws x10
Step 2
Installation
Installation of Rack
Use the console drawer by installing it on a standard EIA 19-inch rack
assembly.
Install a rack to a site where satisfies the following conditions. Then,
install the console drawer on the rack.

"Installing the Console Drawer"
Safety Precautions
Before starting setup,
be sure to read "Safety precautions" and "Safety notes" of
"Precautions of Use (Be Sure to Read)" in the "User's Guide",
and then correctly set up the console drawer following the described

following conditions: *

Temperature: 5 to 45℃
Humidity: 10 to 85%
Close enough to connect the
power cord to power outlet or
UPS.
100 to 240 Vac parallel bi-
polar wall power outlet with
the ground line, or UPS
Install the rack on a flat and
rigid floor.
* If the console drawer is installed in high temperature area and you do not need to use console feature,
store the console drawer in rack during operation.
1. When installing guide rails, the guides must
face forward and inward. (Put front spacer in
front side of the rack, and put rear spacer in
back side of the rack.) Insert
the projection portion of rear
spacer of guide rails into
rack support holes. (See ①)
2. Secure the holes at the top
and bottom of rear spacer with
screws from the outside of
rack support.(See ②)
3. Mount guide rails inside rack
support in front side, and
secure the upper and lower
holes with screws. (See ③)
in User's Guide.
• Do not disconnect/connect the plug while your hands are wet.
Failure to follow this warning may cause an electric shock.
• Do not touch any part of the server and console drawer
including the cables when a thunderstorm is approaching. There

Allow clearance of at least 1 m in

(Installation of Guide Rails)
• Do not install the server and console drawer in dusty, humid,
oily, or fuming place and in a place exposed to direct
sunlight.
• Use a grounded outlet with the specified voltage.
• Do not connect many cords into a single outlet by using
extension cords.

console drawer along with
the rail.(Step ④ in the
figure below)
5. Push in the console

change the position of the console drawer. (For example,
leaving 1U space.)

Connecting cables

Cable connection Procedures
Notes on connecting cables
Important
Turn off the console drawer, server, and peripheral
devices before connecting cables. If one of them is
running when connected, a malfunction or failure may
occur.
When you connect the connector of VGA cable or DVI cable,
