Insert a cassette tape.
Set the Tape selector ® matching it to the tape to
be recorded.
Press the Pause button (8) ©.
Press the Recording button (0) @) and Playback
button (>) @ simultaneously.
Adjust the Record level controls ® so that the Le-
vel indicator @ become near by "O dB".
Release the Pause button (§) © Recording starts.
Press the Pause button (98) © for temporary stops
during recording.
Press the Pause button (If) © again to resume re-
cording.
10. To stop recording, press the Stop/Eject button (0
A) ©.
NOTE:
Recording will not be made if TAPE-1
is operated
(played back, fast-forwarded or rewind) while re-
cording from radio program, turntable, or CD.

From turntable
At using HT-MD 10, connect to PHONO terminal @.
1. Press the Power switch
@ to "ON" and the Func-
tion selector @ to the "PHONO" position.
2. Play the desired disc.
3. Proceed with steps 2 to 10 in "RECORDING from ra-
dio program".
From microphone
1. Press the Power switch @ to "ON", and the Func-
tion selector @ to the "TAPE" position.
2. Connect a microphone plug into the Microphone
jack ©.
NOTES:
@ The sound from the microphone can be record-
ed. However, the sound cannot be heard from
the speakers or headphones.
@ Suitable impedance for this jack is 1 kohms or
less.
3. Proceed with steps 2 to 10 in "RECORDING from ra-
dio program".
From CD player
Connect the CD player to CD input jacks @.
1. Press the Power switch @ to "ON" and the Func-
tion selector @ to the "CD" position.
2. Play the desired disc.
3. Proceed with steps 2 to10 in "RECORDING from ra-
dio program".
DUBBING(Tape copy)
The dubbing is possible from TAPE-1 to TAPE-2 only.
1. Press the Power switch @ to "ON" and set the
Function selector @ to the "TAPE" position.
2. Set the Tape selector ® matching it to the tape to
be recorded.
3. Press the Pause button (88) © and Playback button
(>) @ of TAPE-1.
4. Press the Recording
button (0) @ and Playback
button (>) @ of TAPE-2 simultaneously, and TAPE-
1
starts
playback
automaticaly,
Tape
dubbing
starts.
NOTES:
@ Follow the above procedure for tape dubbing.
@ It is possible to monitor sounds on other program
sources
while
dubbing
a
tape
program
from
TAPE-1 to TAPE-2.
This equipment should not be used for taking co-
pies of tapes in breach of copyright.
Copyright subsists in most pre-recorded tapes.
MIXING RECORDING
Recordings from the turntable, CD player or tuner,
and from the microphone can be performed at the
same time.
1. Set the Function selector
to the desired posi-
tion.
2. Play the desired disc or receive the broadcast.
3. Insert the microphone plug into the Microphone
jack ©.
4. Proceed with Steps 2 to10 in "RECORDING from
radio program".
NOTES:
@ The mixing level between the microphone and
sound is fixed.
@ The sound
from the microphone
cannot
be
heard from the speakers or headphones.
AUTO STOP
If the tape is fully wound during recording or play-
back,.it stops automatically at the tape end. To stop
the tape at any other position, press the Stop/Eject
button (O 4) @.
ERASING
When
a recording has being made, any sound al-
ready recorded on the tape is automatically erased
before a new recording is made.
Erasure is accom-
plished only when this unit is in the recording mode.
To erase a tape without making a new recording, set
the Functioneselector
© to the "TAPE" position and
Record level-control
© to the "O" position and press
the Recording button (0) @ and Playback button (>)
@ simultaneously after removing the microphone
plug.
