Troubleshooting
If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair. If you are
unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or service centre.
WARNING: Under no circumstances should you try to repair the set yourself, as this would
invalidate the guarantee.
PROBLEM_

• REMEDY
Mo power_
- Wrong battery polarity
• Insert batteries correctly
- Batteries exhausted
• Replace batteries
- Volume not adjusted
• Adjust the volume
- Mains adaptor not securely connected
• Connect mains adaptor securely
Radio keeps switching off by itself_
- Batteries are running low
• Replace batteries
Continuous crackling and hiss noise during
AM reception_
- Interference from electrical equipment e.g.
TVs, computers, fluorescent lamps etc.
• Move set away from electrical equipment
The alarm does not function_
- The alarm is not set
• Set the alarm time and activate the radio £
or buzz alarm fl mode
- Volume too low for radio alarm mode
• Increase the volume
No sound (also see No power)_
- Volume is turned down
• Turn up volume
Poor sound /sound from one channel only
- Headphones plug not fully inserted
• Insert plug fully
Severe radio hum/distortion_
- FM aerial not fully extended
• Extend FM aerial fully
- Set too close to TV, computer etc.
• Move set away from electrical equipment
- Batteries are running low
• Replace batteries
Front panel controls do not respond/
display is not working properly_
- Electronic malfunction due to blocked panel
(e.g. after static charges)
• Use a bent-up paper clip to press the RESET
hole. After you hear a click, all PRESET
stations programmed, time settings and the
last station tuned to will be cleared
- LOCK fi activated
• Press the LOCK button fl to re-activate the
front panel controls

The model number can be found on the back of the set and the production number is located in
the battery compartment.
