3. Before commissioning

3.1 Device Installation

Remove all packaging material and all trans-
port bracing from the device. Check that the
package contents are complete and undam-
aged.
For a safe and trouble-free running of the device,
choose the installation location which meets the
following requirements:
The floor should be firm, flat and horizontal.
Do not place the device in a hot and wet or
very humid environment or near combustible
material.
The socket should be easily accessible so that
the mains connection cable can be easily
disconnected, if necessary.

4. Commissioning

NOTE: WHEN USING FOR THE FIRST TIME OR
AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF NON-USE, THERE
MAY BE A SLIGHT ODOUR AND SMOKE FOR
A SHORT TIME. THIS IS NOT A MALFUNCTION
AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SAFETY
HAZARD.

4.1 Switching on the unit

Make sure that the on/off switch 3 is in the "0"
position.
Then connect the appliance to an earthed socket
protected by a residual current circuit breaker.
Now switch on the unit by pushing the on/off
switch 3 upwards to "I".
The on/off switch 3 lights up red.

4.2 Switching off the unit

Switch off the unit by pressing the on/off switch
3 down to "0".
The red light in the on/off switch 3 goes out.

Wait until the appliance has cooled down
before covering it or putting it away.
5. Protective devices for the
appliance

5.1 Tip-over protection

This appliance is equipped with a tip-over pro-
tection. If the appliance is accidentally knocked
over or subjected to a strong inclination during
operation, the appliance switches off auto-
matically. The appliance operates only in the
upright position.
6. Maintenance, cleaning and
storage
CAUTION! DANGER FROM ELECTRIC
SHOCK!
Always disconnect the power plug when the
device is not in use and before any cleaning or
in the event of operating faults!
Clean the device only when it is turned OFF and
in a cooled condition.
Make sure that no moisture penetrates the
device during cleaning to avoid irreparable
damage to the appliance.
Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth
and a mild flushing fluid. Do not use aggressive
and/or abrasive cleaning agents.
Remove dust deposits on the fire protection
grille 2 with a hoover.
Store the appliance in a dry and dust-free
environment.
