Function
Loads a 24·bit address into the address register
associated with the referenced channel (device).
The address refers to the starting (byte) location in
main memory where the MTC will commence input
or output data transfers. Bits 0-7 of the Address Bus
(Module Number) are the most significant bits of
the Address. The Data Bus contains the 16 least
significant bits. Data transfers to or from memory
will normally be on a word basis but byte mode
transfers can occur associated with the first and/or
last memory cycle of a particular data transfer if the
main memory buffer (identified by this instruction)
begins or ends on an odd byte boundary.
