Now use the screwdriver as a lever to pry the 2 handle sections
apart.

Pull the 2 handle sections completely apart.

Insert the screwdriver underneath the electronic circuit board in
multiple places.

Twist and pry the electronic circuit board loose until it is completely
separated from the handle.

Pry the 2 AA-sized cylindrical nickel metal-hydride batteries loose
by inserting the screwdriver on the sides of the two batteries in the
locations shown in the fi gure.
