Loosen the wing knobonthe upperchute, a djustchuteandchutecontrolto
desired operatingposition.
Tighten the wingknobon the upperchutemakingsurethe carriage bolt is
correctlypositioned. R eferto Figure 8.

AugerControl T est
IMPORTANT:
Perform the following test before operating the
snow thrower for the first time and at the start of each winter season.
Check t he adjustment o f the augercontrolasfollows:
1.
Whenaugercontrol i s released a ndinthe disengaged " up" position, c able
shouldhaveverylittle slack, b ut shouldNOT betight.

Donot over-tighten the cable.Over-tighteningmay preventthe augerfrom
disengagingandcompromisethe safetyof the snowthrower.

Inawell-ventilated area,startthe snowthrowerengineasinstructed on
page10underthe headingStartingEngine. Makesurethe throttle issetin
the FAST_j_!t position.
3.
Whilestandinginoperator's position(behindunit)engage auger.
4.
Allowaugerto remainengaged forapproximately ten (10)seconds before
releasing the augercontrol.Repeat t hisseveral times.
5.
With the enginerunningin the FAST 4 _1
positionandthe augercontrol i n
the disengaged "up"position,walkto the front of the machine.
6.
Confirmthatthe augerhascompletely stoppedrotatingandshows NO signs
of motion
7.
Ifthe augershows ANYsigns of rotating,immediately returntothe
operator's positionandshutoff the engine. W aitfor all movingpartsto stop
beforereadjusting the augercontrol.

Loosen the rearhexbolton the cableadjustment b racket.SeeFigure 9.

Retighten the rearhexbolt
