MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Beforeperforming any type of maintenance/service, d isengageall controls
andstop the engine.Wait until all moving parts havecometo a complete
stop.Disconnect s parkplug wire andground it againstthe engine to
preventunintended starting. Alwayswearsafetyglasses d uring operation
or while performing any adjustmentsor repairs.

Oil Recommendations
Engine oil capacityis600ml(approx.20oz.).Donot over-fill.Use a 4-stroke, o r an
equivalent h ighdetergent,premiumqualitymotoroil certifiedto meetor exceed
U.S. a utomobile manufacturer's r equirements f or service classification S G, S EMotor
oilsclassified SG, S Fwill showthisdesignation onthe container.
NOTE: Please dispose of usedmotoroil ina manner t hat isfriendlyto the
environment. T ake it to a recycling centeror othercollectioncenter.

Changing Engine 0ii
Shutoffthe engineandremove the ignition keybeforeperformingany
maintenance. T opreventaccidental s tart-up,disconnect t he sparkplug boot.
Periodic i nspection andadjustment of theengineisessential ifhighlevelperformance
isto bemaintained. Regular m aintenance will also ensure alongservice life.The
required service intervals andthetypeof maintenance t o beperformed aredescribed
inthe tableabove. F ollow thehourlyor calendar intervals, w hichever o ccur f irst. More
frequentservice isrequired whenoperating inadverse conditions.
Check oil levelbefore eachuseandevery5 operatinghourswhenthe engineis
warm. Refer t o Checking andAddingOilinthe Assembly Section.
Change the oil after the first 5operatinghoursandevery50operatinghours
thereafter. E ngine shouldstill bewarmbut NOT hot fromrecentuse.

Drainfuelfrom the tankbyrunningthe engineuntil the fuel tankisempty.
Besurethe fuel fill capissecure.
NOTE: Anoil drainextension kit isavailable separately. Contact a Sears Parts
