The iDRAC on each server module is connected to the CMC through dedicated, fully redundant 100
Mbps Ethernet connections wired through the midplane to a dedicated 24-port Ethernet switch on
the CMC, and exposed to the outside world through the CMC's external Management Ethernet
interface (10/100/1000M). This connection is distinct from the three redundant data Fabrics A, B and
C. Unlike previous generations of Dell server modules, the iDRAC's connectivity is independent of,
and in addition to, the onboard GbE LOMs on the server module. Each server module's iDRAC has its
own IP address and can be accessed, if security settings allow, directly through a supported browser,
telnet, SSH, or IPMI client on the management station.
