    A SCSI card may have several devices attached to form a SCSI chain. Each device in the chain must have a different SCSI ID. You will need to change the SCSI ID on the CD-Writer Plus if the ID set at the factory is already in use by another device.
  • Page 7 How do I set the SCSI ID on the CD-Writer Plus once I know which SCSI ID to use? Locate the SCSI ID switch on the back of the CD-Writer Plus. Use a pen to press the buttons on top or bottom of the SCSI ID switch. The ID setting will roll forward or backward, depending on the button you press.

    How do I terminate the CD-Writer Plus? The CD-Writer Plus adjusts its termination automatically. NOTE: If the CD-Writer Plus is the last of several devices in a chain, disable the termination on the device that was previously at the end of the chain. See the documentation provided with that device to see how to disable the termination.

    Connect a 68-pin to 50-pin adapter to a SCSI data cable that has 68-pin connectors at both ends. The adapter terminates 18 pins, which are then unavailable to devices connected after the adapter. For this reason, connect the CD-Writer Plus after any devices in the chain that use 68 pins.

    Disaster Recovery Set. HP Disaster Recovery uses the data located on your Disaster Recovery Set to restore your files and other vital system information to your new or replaced hard-drive.

    36. Things to Try First Try the following suggestions if your CD-Writer Plus does not appear under Windows Explorer once you have completed the installation. If the problem persists, see the Installation Troubleshooting section below.
  • Page 26 Make sure the CD-Writer Plus is receiving power. Press the eject button to open and close the CD-Writer Plus' tray. If the tray opens and closes, the drive is receiving power.
