The Embedded Switch Module is designed to work in I/O bays 3 through 6 of the BX900 Blade Server chassis. Refer to the PRIMERGY BX900 S1 Basic Unit Operating Manual and make sure to comply with installation requirements. Installing multiple switches Each Embedded Switch Module must be assigned a unique Ethernet IP address during configuration.

Cabling guidelines After modifying the Embedded Switch Module’s IP address and domain name (if the Embedded Switch Module is in Fabric OS Native mode), we recommend that you cable all external ports to fabric connections before bringing the Embedded Switch Module online.

Disabling Access Gateway mode using the CLI Disabling Access Gateway (AG) mode is disruptive because the switch is disabled and rebooted. Disabling AG mode clears the F_Port to N_Port mapping. Always back up the current configuration before enabling or disabling Access Gateway mode.
