    2. Connect the dc-in connector of the power adapter to the dock. 3. Connect the power plug of the power cord to an electrical outlet. Press the power button to turn on the dock. Note: Be sure to correctly connect the dock to the power supply. If the dock is not turned on, you will not be able to use the dock.

    For the Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 operating system: 1. Exit all applications that use the dock. 2. Click Start ➙ All Programs ➙ ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock ➙ Uninstall ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock. 3. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall the device driver.

    To exit extend mode, do the following: 1. Click the ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens. 2. Select ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock ➙ Off. Mirror mode When the dock is in mirror mode, it clones your notebook computer screen to the external monitor. The dock automatically selects the settings (screen resolution, color quality, and refresh rate) for the external monitor, which achieves optimal resolution based on your notebook computer.

    To manually enable the headset and microphone combo connector on the dock, do the following: For the Windows XP operating system: 1. Click the ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock icon in the Windows notification area. A pop-up menu opens. 2. Select Audio Setup. The Sound and Audio Devices Properties window opens.

    1. The ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock icon is not displayed on my screen. The ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock icon is displayed only when an external monitor is connected to the dock. If an external monitor is connected, ensure that the video cable is fully inserted into the dock and the monitor.
