Cause
The machine has a mechanical
problem.
Registration failed.
There is already a file on the
USB flash drive with the same
name as the file you are trying
to save.
It is time to replace the belt
unit.
It is time to replace the drum
unit.
The drum unit counter was not
reset when a new drum was
installed.
It is time to replace the fuser
unit.
Action
Do one of the following:
 Press and hold down
machine off, wait a few minutes, and then
turn it on again (see Transferring your faxes
or Fax Journal report on page 120).
 If the problem continues, contact Brother
Customer Service.
Press OK and try again.
 Press and hold down
machine.
Wait a few seconds, then turn it on again.
Perform the automatic color registration
using the Touchscreen (see Advanced
User's Guide).
 Put in a new belt unit (see Replacing the
belt unit on page 96).
 If the problem continues, contact Brother
Customer Service.
Change the file name of the file on the USB
flash drive or the file you are trying to save.
Replace the belt unit (see Replacing the belt
unit on page 96).
Replace the drum unit (see Replacing the drum
unit on page 90).
Reset the drum unit counter, (see Resetting
the drum counter on page 96).
Contact Brother Customer Service or a Brother
Authorized Service Center to replace the fuser
unit.
