Ring Resume Function

The computer automatically resumes from
modem rings.
You will need software to keep the computer in an idle state waiting for a phone call, and if you prefer, to turn the computer to

Click
(Start) - [Windows Fax and Scan].

Click [Tools] - [Fax Settings].
A standard user needs to enter an administrator password.
Check whether the modem you are using is displayed in Device name. If not, click [Select fax device] and select
the correct modem.

Add a check mark for [Allow the device to receive fax calls] and click [OK].

Click
(Start) - [Computer] - [System properties] - [Device Manager].
A standard user needs to enter an administrator password.

Double-click [Modems], and then double-click the internal modem.

Click [Power Management] and add a check mark for [Allow this device to wake the
computer], and then click [OK].
Windows XP

Click [start] - [Printers and Faxes].

Click [Set up faxing] in the [Printer Tasks] area on the left.
This operation is not necessary next time.

Right-click the fax icon and then click [Properties].

Click [Devices] - [Properties].

Click [Receive], and then add the check mark for [Enable device to receive] and click
[OK].
