    Important information In this chapter you will find essential information regarding safety when working on your server. Information for ensuring electromagnetic compatibility All data and signal cables must have sufficient shielding The LAN cabling must be conform with the requirements EN 50173 and EN 50174-1/2.
  • Page 18 For safety reasons, no more than one unit may be withdrawn from the rack at any one time during installation and maintenance work. Please keep in mind, that PRIMERGY CX122 S1 server nodes will tip over or fall out of the rack if slid out too far! The rack must be connected to the power supply by an authorized specialist (electrician).
  • Page 19 Safety instructions If necessary, have other people help you mount the individual components in the rack because of the weight involved. Install only system expansions that satisfy the requirements and rules governing safety. If you install other expansions, you may damage the system or violate these safety regulations.

    4.2.1 Removing a PRIMERGY CX122 S1 server A defective PRIMERGY CX122 S1 server is maintained by Fujitsu service technicians. The warranty is void if the server is damaged during installation or replacement of system expansions. Ê Shut down the server.

    Front panel 5.2.1 Controls On/Off button When the system is switched off, it can be switched on again by pressing the On/Off button. When the system is operating, pressing the On/Off button will switch off the system. The On/Off button does not isolate the device from the mains voltage.

  • Page 46 Configuring the server When starting up a PRIMERGY CX122 S1 server node for the first time, there are several installation options, depending on the system configuration: – Hard disk drives installed - Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot (recommended) PXE boot requires your machine's BIOS to make a request of a TFTP server for a bootable image (the equivalent of inserting a CD and booting).
