Starting the Engine

Model 20056 only
1. Push the ignition toggle switch to the On ("I") position
(Figure 19).

2. Firmly push in the primer 3 times with your thumb,
holding the primer in for a second before releasing it
each time (Figure 20).

Note: If the air temperature is below 55°F (13°C),
firmly push the primer in 5 times.
3. Start the engine in one of 2 ways:
•
Pull the recoil starter in the operating position
(Figure 21).

Pull the recoil starter at the engine (Figure 22).

4. If the mower does not start in 1 or 2 pulls, press the
primer button 1 or 2 times and try starting it again.
Note: If the mower still does not start, contact an
Authorized Service Dealer.

1. Firmly push in the primer 3 times with your thumb,
holding the primer in for a second before releasing it
each time (Figure 23).

2. Start the engine in one of 3 ways:
•
Turn the ignition key to the Start position; when the
engine starts, release the key (Figure 24).
