8. Self Programming Mode (TK-270G only)
Write mode for frequency data and signalling etc. Mainly
used by the person maintaining the user equipment.
8.1 Self programming mode setting
Remove D17 from the TX-RX unit (Figure 3) (K, E, (N)E,
K2 models only). Hold down the [Side1]+[ ] switches and
turn the power switch on.
When the self programming mode is entered, [SELF]
appears on the display. The mode changes automatically
to Model Select Mode and "PORTABLE" is displayed in
about one second.
Note :
This mode (self programming mode) cannot be set when it
has been disabled with the FPU.
Note :
Self programming is disabled if "a Trunking Board is installed
in this Radio" is selected in the FPU.

Note :
IF the radio type of TK-270G was temporally set to "Mobile"
for the cloning purposes, "UNPROG" is displayed (at User
Mode) when the TK-270G is turned on.
