DVEdit INSTALLATION CHECK ITEMS

1. Board Installation Check
(a) Is the Targa board installed in the first slot from the
CPU?
(b) Is the SCSI board installed in the second slot from the
CPU?
(c) Is the JOG board inserted?
(d) If the Targa board clamp has a grounding wire
attached to it, is the grounding wire connected to the
cabinet?
2. Cable Connection Check
(a) Is the keyboard connected?
(b) Is the mouse connected?
(c) Aren t the keyboard and mouse connected the other
way round?
(d) Is the power cable connected?
(e) Is the forked cable connected to the Targa board and
VGA card correctly and fastened with screws,
respectively?
( f ) Is the VGA cable connected and screwed to the
forked cable?
(g) Is the VTR control cable connected?
(h) Is the VTR switched on?
( i ) Is the VTR switch in the Remote position?
( j ) Is JOGPAD connected?
(k) Is the LTC cable connected?
( l ) Are the video input/output cables connected and
screwed to the Targa board?
3. Check After Switching Power On
3.1. Starting Screen Check
(a) Is the memory capacity (standard: 64 MB) normal?
(b) Is the CD-ROM drive name displayed (only
momentarily)?
(c) Is the system disk name displayed?
(d) Is the SCSI card name displayed?
(e) Are all the SCSI disk names displayed?
3.2. BIOS Setup Check
(a) Is Power Management disabled?
(b) Is Plug&Play OS set to No?

3.3. SCSI Device Setup Check
Press [Ctrl]+[A] on the BIOS screen to show the SCSI
Utility screen and check the following.
(a) Are all the maximum sync transfer rate settings 40.0
MB? (Check both channels A and B.)
(b) Are all the connected disks Verify once on the SCSI
Utility? (Check both channels A and B.)
3.4. Setup Check with Administrator
Start the administrator panel by taking the steps in the
order of "Start"
"Program"

(Common)"
"Disk Administrator", and check the

following.
(a) Are all the connected disks displayed?
(b) Is the drive name of disk 0 "C:"?
(c) Is the format of disk 0 "NTFS"?
(d) Is a drive name allocated to the disk for audio data
storage? (If there are two or more disks for audio
data storage, check it for all the disks.)
(e) Is the format of the disks for audio data storage
"NTFS"? (Check it for all the disks for video and title
data storage.)
( f ) Is a drive name allocated to the disk for video and
title data storage? (If there are two or more disks for
video and title data storage, check it for all the disks.)
(g) Is the format of the disks for video and title data
storage "Unknown"? (Check it for all the disks for
video and title data storage.)
3.5. Virtual Memory Setup Check
Open the Control Panel by taking the steps in the order
of "Start"
"Setup"
"Control Panel".

Then, double-click the icon "System" to open the system
property menu, and select the tab "Performance". Click
the
button, one of the virtual memory items, to

open the virtual memory panel, then check the following.
(a) Is the drive set in the paging file "C:"?
(b) Is the initial size of the paging file 300 MB?
(c) Is the maximum size of the paging file 400 MB?
