TiVo's Privacy Promise to You
Please read this policy document carefully. It provides
important information on how your privacy is protected when
using your personal television
service.
TiVo knows how important personal privacy is to you, so we have
established strict policies to help protect the privacy of your
personal information. Here is our complete Privacy Promise.
1 Personal Viewing Information. Your TiVo Recorder keeps
track of viewing information - the programs you ask it to
record and any time you press buttons on the Remote Control,
such as ''Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down." Your Recorder
uses this information to tune, schedule, record, and
recommend programs for you. Your preferences are personal.
The TiVo Service has no way of knowing what shows you
have given ''Thumbs'' to.
2 Anonymous Viewing Information. Anonymous viewing
information is viewing information that does not identify you
as an individual or household. This means it is not linked to
you or your household in any way. We may use anonymous
viewing information to benefit TiVo and strengthen our efforts
to encourage the television industry to better serve the
interests of TiVo subscribers. If you don't want anonymous
viewing information used in any way, simply tell us by caning
our toll-free telephone number.
3 Account Information. When you become a TiVo customer.
you provide us with your name. shipping address, phone
number, credit card number, and other information which we
use to establish vour TiVo account and bill vou for TiVo

services. TiVo will not sen, share, or release to companies
outside TiVo this personal account information without your
prior consent, except as required to process or collect
payments, service your account, support your Recorder
equipment manufacturer's warranty program, or respond to a
court order or other legal process.
4 The Security of Account Information. Inside TiVo, your
account information is only available to TiVo employees who
are specifically responsible for servicing customer accounts or
maintaining the customer service database. In addition, the
database on which your records are stored uses security
measures to protect it from access by those outside TiVo.
5 How to Review and Update Your Account. You have a right to
know the personal account information stored by TiVo and to
update or change that information. If you would like to review
or change your account information, please call us at 1-877-

6 Erasing Account Information. If you ever decide to
discontinue your TiVo Service, call us and we will suspend
billing for the service. Personal account information will be
retained on our records only as long as required for billing
purposes and as required by law. We will then delete your
name, phone number, address, and credit card information
from our customer service database.
