Setting Up the Server to Recognize the Logical Units
Check that all connected devices are listed in the ioscan output and "CLAIMED" is displayed in "S/W
State".
The following example shows the output of ioscan (LegacyView) when ETERNUS DX storage systems are
connected to a server.

When the ETERNUS DX storage systems are connected for the first time, the device file (for exam-
ple, /dev/dsk/c4t0d0) sometimes may not be created.
If this happens, use the "insf" command to create the device file. Specify the hardware path name as
follows, and execute.
# insf -H hw_path_to_device -e
