Reset your CANVIO HOME

The reset button is located on the back of the device. See
location.
To reset the CANVIO HOME, use a ballpoint pen or other small-tipped element to press and hold the reset button for at least
two (2) seconds. This resets the device name and resets the administrator password to the default "admin."

Erase data

If your CANVIO HOME contains sensitive data, please be aware that the following standard deletion procedures do not
remove the data from the device:
v
Selecting Delete for a target file
v
Putting files in and emptying the Recycle Bin
v
Reformatting the media
v
Reinstalling the CANVIO HOME installation software
The procedures above delete only the initial part of the data used for file management. This makes the file invisible to the
operating system, but specialized utilities can still read the data.
If you dispose of or transfer your CANVIO HOME device, use one of the following methods to destroy all data and prevent
unauthorized use of such data:
v
Physically destroy the CANVIO HOME device
v
Use a proven specialized utility to overwrite all the data
v
Take the device to a professional deletion service
Toshiba is not responsible for the deletion of the data on your device.
