DSAT Deviation Adjust

Step 39. Enter 571# to place the phone in
narrow channel test mode. The
transmitter will de-key. Re-enter
05# to re-key the transmitter.
Step 40. Enter 251# to enable DSAT code 1.
Step 41. Read the average deviation on the
communications analyzer.
If the reading is 450-550 Hz
(corresponding to 900-1100 Hz
peak) proceed to Step 45. "Enter
26# to disable transmission of the
DSAT code.".
Step 42. Enter 72# and press the ] key
repeatedly to advance to step 0B.
Step 43. Use the volume control or enter
numbers from 00 to 07 via the
keypad to adjust the deviation in
the range of 450-550 Hz.
Step 44. Press the ] key to exit 72# test mode.
Step 45. Enter 26# to disable transmission of
the DSAT code.

RX Discriminator Gain Adjust

Step 46. Inject a -50 dBm, 883.020 MHz
(channel 434) signal FM modulated
with a 1 kHz tone at + 2.9 kHz
deviation into the SMA connector,
of the test cable SKN4665A.
Step 47. Enter the following commands:
08#
to unmute the RX audio
58#
to turn the compandor on
474#
to set the receive audio
volume to level 4
356#
to
handset audio path
select
the
external
Step 48. Enter 72# , use the ] button to toggle
down to step 0A (left side of
display), and use the volume
control or enter numbers from 00 to
0F via the keypad to obtain 100 mV
rms +15% at pin 9 of J3 (RX audio
out).
After adjustment, exit the 72#
command
depressing the ] button until the
display shows the ' prompt.
Step 49. Exit
depressing the PWR button. This
completes the keypad adjustment
procedure.
If the telephone requires further
adjustments, it must be sent to a
Motorola
adjustments using a diagnostic
computer.
