EFI DIAGNOSTICS

Instrument Cluster Trouble Code Display

Use the following procedure to display diagnostic trouble codes
logged in the ECU if the Check Engine (MIL) icon is
illuminated on the instrument cluster.
NOTE: In order to view the diagnostic codes on the
instrument cluster, the Check Engine (MIL) icon
must be illuminated.
1.
Place the transmission in PARK.
2.
Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3.
Toggle through the LCD display using the "SELECT"
button until the Check Engine (MIL) icon begins flashing.
4.
When the Check Engine (MIL) icon is flashing, a set of two
numbers will appear on the LCD.
5.
The first number is located in the information area and can
be 2 to 6 digits in length. This number represents the
Suspect Parameter Number (SPN).
6.
The second number is located in the clock area and can be
1 to 2 digits in length. This number represents the Failure
Mode Identifier (FMI).

(T-MAP)

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE

ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION
7.
Use the "Diagnostic Trouble Code Table" as a reference.
8.
Press and hold the "MODE" button to cycle through all
currently active trouble codes.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with power steering,
the power steering (MIL) LED will illuminate and
blink in place of the Check Engine (MIL) if there is a
diagnostic problem with the power steering system.
