Interface
Serial/headset interface("Lumberg" plug)
The universal interface ("Lumberg" plug) is used in Siemens mobile telephones (from
S25 and higher) and provides the following part interfaces for the SIMpad SL4:
•
serial interface (RS-232; V.24 level conversion 12 V)
•
audio headset interface
Via the serial interface, the SIMpad SL4 can communicate with a PC for data
exchange (see 5.4.5), or with peripherals (external keyboard, modem, mobile
telephone). For this, a crossed (9-pin) serial cable is used (see 6.1.3). Data
transmission is possible in one direction at a time only (no duplex).
The serial cable for Siemens mobile phones has an integrated level conversion.
Therefore it cannot be used for the SIMpad SL4 which requires a simple cable without
level conversion (see 6.1.3).
