In the application software, the commutation vectors are defined in a
table of 8 values (entry 0-7). Any Hall sensor pattern gives the right
pointer to the table of commutation vectors. For our example, the
commutation table shown in
used. Please note that Hall sensor pattern 0 [000] and 7 [111] indicates
a fault, since such a combination is not available during normal
operation. Such a state can be caused, e.g. by a disconnected Hall
sensor interface, or it's malfunction. In that case, the output channels are
switched off (output signals are put into a safe state) in order to protect
the drive.
