7 Eliminating malfunctions
Exhaust gas temperature too high
Engine performance and engine speed unchanged
Possible causes
Engine Malfunction in the injection system
Turbocharger Insufficient air, for example, when filter
silencer is blocked by contamination
Compressor/turbine contaminated
Exhaust gas back pressure too high
Turbine damaged or eroded
Charge air Cooler contaminated

Cooling water volume too low
Inlet temperature of cooling water too

Insufficient ventilation

Possible causes
Engine Air receiver not sealed
Gas piping between engine and turbine
not sealed
Injection mistimed
Valve control misadjusted
Turbocharger Manometer display not correct
Supply pipe to manometer not sealed
Filter silencer contaminated, therefore
pressure drop too high
Compressor end and/or turbine end con-
taminated
Compressor/turbine damaged
Exhaust gas back pressure too high
Pipes Pipes downstream to the compressor out-
let not sealed.
