The unit is designed with fully adjustable dim settings for the display
backlighting, panel lighting and annunciator lighting. It is shipped from the
factory with standard adjustments, which should be satisfactory for most
installations.
To change these settings from the factory presets, the following procedure
should be followed.
(This is typically a bench procedure only. It is recommended that J1-p be left
open in the aircraft installation.)
1. With the unit powered off, ground the ATE (FCDE) TEST IN pin (J1-p).
2. Turn the unit on. After a brief display of the software number and version
and a fault code display screen, rotate either knob in any direction and a dim
settings display shall be shown.
3. Rotating the appropriate knob, as described below, shall display the
corresponding information:
Large Knob:
'LO L' (low setting for the LCD display lighting)
'HI L'
'F0 L'
'LO P' (low setting for the panel lighting)
'HI P' (high setting)
'LO A' (low setting for the annunciator lighting)
'HI A' (high setting)
'F0 A' (for adjusting how bright the FBAZ annunciator brightness is) *
Small Knob:
Adjustment value from 0 - 100, 0 being OFF and 100 being full bright.
NOTE: F0L and F0A show only for software releases 160 12 and
The unit will following a semi-linear curve for each dimming bank (panel,
LCD backlighting and annunciator lighting) from the LO setting to the HI
setting. As mentioned, the full bright function shall apply to the
annunciator and LCD backlighting curves. Do not set the HI value for any
of the banks lower than the LO value.
