5-24 BRAKES
FRONT BRAKE HOSE/PIPE

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1) Raise and support vehicle properly. Remove wheel.
This operation is not necessary when removing pipes connecting master cylinder and P valve.
2) Clean dirt and foreign material from both flexible hose end and pipe end fittings. Remove brake flexible hose
or pipe.
3) Reverse brake flexible hose installation procedure.
For installation, make sure that steering wheel is in straightforward position and flexible hose has not twist or
kink. Check to make sure that flexible hose doesn't contact any part of suspension, both in extreme right and
extreme left turn conditions. If it does at any point, remove and correct. Fill and maintain brake fluid level in reser-
voir. Bleed brake system.
4) Perform brake test and check installed part for fluid leakage.
For left-steering vehicle

2. Blend proportioning valve (B.P valve)
3. 4-way cross joint
4. Clamp
5. 2-way joint
6. ABS actuator
7. From master cylinder (Primary) to 4-way joint
8. From master cylinder (Secondary) to 4-way joint
9. To front brake (Right)
10. To front brake (Left)
11. From B.P valve to ABS actuator (Primary)
12. From B.P valve to ABS actuator (Secondary)
13. To rear brake or LSPV
14. From 4-way cross joint to LSPV
15. E-ring
16. Flexible hose
17. Brake caliper
18. Up side
[A] : For vehicle with ABS
[B] : For vehicle without ABS
[C] : For front brake flexible hose clamp
Tightening Torque

(a) : 16 N
m (1.6 kg-m, 12.0 Ib-ft)

(b) : 11 N
m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 Ib-ft)
