3-3-1 Normal Operation
Pre-seuing:
a. Connec t the drive to MFD Func tion Checker
ll. (Refer to Fig. 2-14)
e. Set the STEP RATE, TRK 00 ADJUST and
SW4 switchs to "3ms", "off" and "A" ,ide
respectively.
f. Set the MON, HDSL and INUSE switch. to
"off", "0" and "upper" sides respecuvdy. b. Set the DRIVE SELEer switch (S101) on the
disk drive to "0" (most right side).
g. Slide aU digit switch (0,1,2,3) of the DRIVE
SELSer to the "lower" side. c. Set the XADJ switch on the Fi:uure-10 to
"OFF". h. Set the SW16 switch to "500Kbps" side for
2MByte mode. ("25 OK bps" side for 1MByte
mode.)
d. Set SW1 switch on the MFD Function Checker
II to "34+4".
Procedure StcP ODeration

Power On 1. The disk motor remains stopped.

Drive Selec t 1. The WRTP RT indicator and In Use lamp light only when the
DRIVE SELEer switch on the MFD Function Checker nand
the DRIVE SELSer switch (S101) on the disk drive are set
as follows:

Otherwise, these indicators go out.

Stepping 1. When the
srEP
O~T switch is pressed, the head is
continuously stepped out until it arrives at TRKOO. (When
the head is located on TRKOO, the TRKOO indicator lights.>
2. When the srep IN switch is pressed,
the
head
is
continuously stepped in until it arrives at TRK79.
4 Motor Rotation 1. Insert the 50 Auto disk and then MOTOR ON switch on.
2. The motor
rotates. (The INDEX indicator on the MFD
Function Checker n blinks.)
3. The WRTPRT and DSKCHG indicators light.

CHGRST
1. The DSKCHG indicator goes out for MP-F 17W-50L when the
CHGRST switch is pressed.
2. The DSKCHG indicator goes out for MP-F17W-50D when the
STEP IN

switch is pressed.
6 Motor speed
1. The Motor speed can be measured at TRK35, on TP-3 of
.
MFD Function Checker n with an universal counter. It
should be 200msec:t3.0msec.
