The arrangement of digging teeth involves both where and
how each tooth is attached to the digging chain. Use the
following guidelines when you select the arrangements of
teeth:
Install teeth that are the same width and are spaced
equally around the chain.
Use fewer teeth on the chain when you are operating the
trencher in wet clay or gumbo.
Use more teeth on the chain when you are operating the
trencher in sandy loam or rocky ground.
Note: You can use different types and combinations of teeth
to increase productivity in various digging conditions. The
rock and frost teeth or the shark teeth penetrate the soil well,
and the cupped teeth help to remove the soil. Try several
combinations to determine the one best suited for your site.
