PLC Communication
The PLC communication board loads communication signals onto power cables for
transmission. For details about how to install the PLC module, see the PLC CCO01A User
Manual or SmartLogger2000 User Manual.
Selecting a Communication Mode
The SUN2000 supports PLC and RS485 communication modes, but only one communication
mode can be selected at the time of setup.



5.6.2 Installing the RS485 Communications Cable

Selecting an Installation Mode
An RS485 communications cable can be connected in two ways:


 The RS485 communication distance between the SUN2000 at the end of the daisy chain and the
SmartLogger cannot exceed 1000 meters.

If multiple SUN2000s need to communicate with one another and are connected to a PC over the
SmartLogger2000, a maximum of six daisy chains can be configured.

To ensure the system response speed, it is recommended that the number of devices on each daisy
chain be less than 30.
The built-in PLC module in the SUN2000 does not need to be connected with additional cables.
If the PLC communication mode is selected, do not connect the RS485 communications
cable. In addition, you need to set PLC Communication to Enable on the SUN2000 app.
(PLC Communication is set to Enable by default.)
If the RS485 communication mode is selected, do not connect the PLC CCO module to the
AC power cable or connect the AC power cable for the SmartLogger2000. In addition, you
are advised to set PLC Communication to Disable on the SUN2000 app.
