1 About This Guide Thank you for purchasing a Huawei AR series router. This guide describes how to install AR502 and AR509CG series routers. It also explains how to log in to your router for the first time. The installation, connection, and login methods of AR502 series routers and AR509CG are similar. This document uses the AR502G-L-D-H and AR502EGRz-L routers as an example. -

Follow all the safety precautions and instructions provided by Huawei. The safety precautions outlined in this document are only those that Huawei can predict. Huawei is not liable for any consequence that results from violation of regulations pertaining to safe operations or safety codes pertaining to design, production, and equipment use. - Page 4 Install the SIM card cover back to the router and tighten the screw to fix the cover. Scenario Installing the Router on a Desk CAUTION Ensure that the desk is flat and properly grounded. Leave at least 50 mm of clearance around the router for heat dissipation. Do not place other objects on the router.

- Page 6 Scenario 3: Mounting the Router on a DIN Rail NOTE The DIN mounting kit is optional and needs to be purchased separately if needed. For an AR502CG-L router, skip step 1 because the DIN mounting kit has been installed on the router before delivery.

The procedures for NOTE wall-mounted and pole-mounted installation are similar to those for the IP65 enclosure assembly box. The following describes the installation procedures for the IP65 enclosure assembly box. Procedure Put the IP65 enclosure assembly box upside down on a table and loosen screws using the Phillips screwdriver.
- Page 8 Scenario 1: Installing a Router in an IP65 Enclosure Assembly Box (Wall-mounted) Attach the IP65 enclosure assembly box mounting bracket to the wall and keep its top and bottom edges horizontal. Use a marker to mark four mounting positions, two at the top and two at the bottom. Install the mounting bracket on the IP65 enclosure assembly box.

Install the mounting bracket on the IP65 enclosure assembly box. Put the mounting bracket on the back of the IP65 enclosure assembly box. Adjust the position of the mounting bracket to align the mounting holes on it with the four screw holes on the router. Use four M5x10 screws to fix the mounting bracket on the router. -
