7. Operating the amplifier

Note: We will describe operating the amplifier via the buttons on the remote control. If buttons on the
local keyboard are required for operation, these buttons will be mentioned.

7.1 Source selection

Use SELECT (3) to select RECVR.
> You can now operate your DFR9000.
Use the source selection buttons (4) to select the sources connected to your DFR9000.
> The left display shows the selected source, followed by the type of input signal (audio,
video).The middle display shows the name of the input sockets the source is connected
to.
Note: If, in the 'AV input' menu, audio and video are set to 'None' for a source, it is not possible to
select this source on your DFR9000. See '10.7 A/V input menu'.

7.2 Sound control

Use SELECT (3) to select RECVR.
Use the source selection buttons (4) to select the desired A/V source.
Volume
Use – VOL + (10) to adjust the volume.
Press c MUTE (11) to mute the sound of the active source.

7.3 Selecting surround modes

What surround modes can be selected depends on which speakers are connected and on the
type of the incoming signal.The available surround modes are displayed in the middle display.

Use SURROUND (17) to select the various surround modes.
