Pre-Maintenance
Procedures

Removing the Hood

1.
Unlatch and raise the hood.
2.
Remove the hairpin cotter securing the hood
pivot to the mounting brackets

Slide the hood to the right side, lift the other
side, and pull it out of the brackets.
Note:
Reverse this procedure to install the hood.

Lubrication

Greasing the Bearings and
Bushings
Service Interval: Every 50 hours—Lubricate all of the
(Figure
77).
The machine has grease fittings that you must
lubricate regularly with No. 2 lithium grease. Also,
lubricate the machine immediately after every
washing.
The grease-fitting locations and quantities are:
Traction Unit

bearings and bushings.
Every 500 hours/Yearly (whichever comes first)
2 front and rear-axle-pivot bushings
2 steering-cylinder-ball joints
2 tie-rod-ball joints

The top fitting on the king pin should only be
lubricated annually (2 pumps).
