7. Before you start

You can install the kitchen radio either free-standing or underneath a wall unit. You can also insert
backup batteries. See chapter "7.4 Inserting the backup batteries".

7.1 Wire antenna

On the back panel of the kitchen radio you'll find the wire antenna [18]. This is wound up on delivery.
Unwind it completely to improve radio reception.

7.2 Free-standing installation (not mounted)

Place the kitchen radio on a stable, level surface. Pull out the stand [20] so the speakers [22] are not
covered.

7.3 Mounting under a wall unit

CAUTION! Do not operate the device in a hot, humid or wet environment. Do not
mount the kitchen radio directly over a hob where it would be exposed to steam.
CAUTION! Mounting installation the radio will damage the wall unit. The manufacturer
assumes no liability for improper or incorrect installation or damage caused by drilling
holes.
Before mounting, first check that there is good radio reception where you intend to install
the radio.
Before mounting, check that the power cable can easily reach the mains outlet where
you intend to install the radio.
